Pointe de Chalune : Par le Vallon du Souvroz et le Col du Foron
The snow in the valley not too bad, fresh-like as carried by the wind from the upper slopes. The summit face in hardpack, parts icy, ski crampons essential. Snow cover is almost complete, but thin and missing small parts here and there (mostly where streams have washed it out). Upper slope has some cracks, probably from heating up and might slide down at one point. Not crowded but people arriving from all 3 directions at the summit. Parking easy.
NOTE: if 2.1 is your reference grade, you might find the route in current conditions slightly discomforting, as the icy conditions make the top unpleasant both up and down and the lower part can get pretty tight, with some stones sticking out.
Extremely windy higher up, rather calm and warm in the valley. T
