Finsteraarhornhütte - Finsteraarhorn - Grünhornlücke - Fiescheralp

That Finsteraarhorn really offers a cool mix in terms of skiable terrain (though which wasn't the best that day) and mixed climbing. Amazing view due to its prominence included. The long way back from the hut to Fiescheralp also offers a lot in terms of landscape, just the Aletsch is a bit too flat and some pushing was needed. Timing is important to reach the cable car before it closes!

SW-Face of Finsteraarhorn: Well covered. Only a short bootpacking needed at the traverse after the Frühstücksplatz. The descend was really bad for the first half (breakable crust) and very nice in the second half (perfect corn). N-ridge Finsteraarhorn: Super snow covered, not many parts on rocks. One could even bring the skis quite a good amount up to ski the face (about 45°?), but the face also had a bad breakable crust, therefore not worth it that day. Traverse to Fiescheralp: All easy on the glaciers (though the Aletsch is very flat). After the tunnel from the Mälligsee, a short part can still be skinned and then it's a 30min walk to the cable car.

Pretty warm No wind Quite sunny with cumulus cloud formation starting already at 9am covering some areas.
