Bortelhorn: NW-flanc and N-couloir

Amazing to have skied that pyramid, well visible from upper Valais around Visp. The NW-flanc and continuation with the N-couloir is an amazing, direct line with ca. 900m of steep descend.

No one around.

Overall great skiing conditions. Ca. 10-20cm of fresh snow on a good base. Also the NW-flanc was well skiable from the summit, just the boot-packing was tedious as one was sinking in deeply sometimes. Good corn/slush towards the end the Steinutälli. A bit of ski-carrying needed at the end of it (S-sided) but was not an issue.

Started in the clouds but it cleared up at the right moment. No wind, quite warm.
